Happy Monday everyone!
One of the (few) things I miss about corporate life is getting dressed up for work – cute skirts, heels, accessories – expressing my own personal style through my wardrobe. The life of a personal trainer and running coach is filled with yoga pants, sports bras and fitness shoes. A comfy wardrobe, yes. But a little repetitive. I do wear running skirts a lot in the summer, but I really (really, really, really) miss the bling – the cute jewelry that accents an outfit and makes it a little more special. Sadly, however, the last thing you want on an 8-mile run is a statement necklace. Enter Momentum. They’ve managed to combine comfort, style and inspiration into an awesome line of fitness jewelry that even the sweatiest workout enthusiast can enjoy! Amy reached out to me shortly before FitBloggin and asked if I’d like to give their Motivate Wrap and FootNotes a try and review them on my blog – and of course I jumped at the chance. I chose a vibrant teal wrap with the saying ‘live every day with INTENTION’ and a set of matching FootNotes that reminded me to DIG DEEP. When they arrived I was so excited to try them out I almost forgot to take pictures! Fortunately I remembered just in time.
The first day I wore my Motivate Wrap and Footnotes to my Saturday morning group run, I got so many compliments!
The vibrant color of the wrap, the softness of the fabric, and the inspirational sayings were a big hit. The bracelet was incredibly comfortable even after an hour-long run, and stayed surprisingly dry (I can’t say the same for my tank top). It was so easy to wear, in fact, that I almost forgot it was there until someone asked me where I got it. The FootNotes were a great reminder to me as I was slogging up a particularly tough hill and had my head down looking at my feet. With each step, Dig. Deep. Dig. Deep. Dig. Deep. And I did. I also wore them both throughout FitBloggin and was delighted to see several on other wrists and shoes. We started calling it “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Motivate Wraps”
Excuse the blurry photo on the left – Heather and I were getting ready to head out for a 5K run and were having a hard time sitting still. Her wrap says “stronger than yesterday” – another awesome motivational quote.
As I was preparing to lead my FitBloggin session, I relied on my FootNotes (and coffee) to help me relax and get ready to deliver my first talk on running! And later that day, after a hot, humid afternoon in Savannah, I even used my Motivate Wrap to control my unruly hair. One of my favorite places to wear it is on my bike, because the message is always there front and center for me to see. So far I’ve worn my wrap while hiking, cycling, running, sightseeing, relaxing, happy-houring and working (pretty much everything but showering and swimming) and it is always a lovely reminder. It doesn’t get in the way of my activities, is easy to take on and off, and it is so pretty! There are tons of color and quote options for the Motivate Wrap and Footnotes – and there are lots of other types of jewelry on their site, including headbands, necklaces and suede cuffs. They even do custom sayings! In fact…I loved my wrap so much I ordered a custom version with my very own favorite slogan: I am absolutely smitten with new jewelry and am so grateful to the Momentum girls for their generous gift. If you’re in the market for some fitness bling, or looking for a gift for the workout enthusiast in your life, I highly recommend their products.
